The Stone Day 3

20
Aug

Good things often come in three’s. My third day on the set of The Stone was completely amazing. It started early in the morning already when the director informed of yet another extension of my rol. Can’t talk too much about this part so you’ll have to wait until the movie to see what amazing things he came up with.

The Stone, featuring Corjan
The day was filled with exciting scenes involving a little zoo of maggots, crickets, grasshoppers, ratst, a tarantula and a venomous snake. Even though the animals were brilliantly handled by the phenomenal Nik Spencer and Tony Rotherham, it must have been truly nerve wrecking for the actors to stay in character around those. It did add to the dramatic effect of the scenes tremendously.

in make-up for the next sceneAt the end of the day I had to go home with a sad heart, a head full of new experiences and some fantastic new friends. Now the difficult period begins. Waiting for the moment that the film will be released to the festivals and the release of my title song Single and Music Video in synch with that. Until that time I will be working on more music and some of the artwork for the film. This week, the location and the cast have inspired me endlessly.

I tremendously enjoyed the acting and I am dead nervous to find out what it looks like on the big screen. On to the next project and new horizons!

The Stone Day 2

18
Aug

The StoneThis morning over breakfast, director Philip Gardiner casually informed me he had made some slight last minute changes to the script. Was it OK if I got killed?

We have just finished filming on my second day on the set of the movie The Stone. For me it was the first time I acted in a movie. After a short rehearsal with the rest of the cast the whole scene was shot in one take, with a 2nd take as a backup. Later on the day we shot the part in which I am killed. It was great and scary at the same time. Tomorrow we’ll shoot an alternative version of the killing so the director will have two scenarios to choose from. I’m sure I’ll die even better than today ;)

In between things I gave an interview that will be used for the making of or possibly a full documentary about sacred stones. In the afternoon we shot the last scenes for the music video. From what I have seen so far, both the movie and the video are going to look awesome.

A glance at Corjan as Mark GodwinPhilip has really gathered a fantastic group of people, who have been cast very close to their own personalities. Especially Sarah Dunn was incredible today. In an heavy, emotional scene she genuinely cried her eyes out to the point that all of us who were looking were all choked up. No idea how she did it but impressive it was.

It is remarkable to feel and experience how committed everybody is. People genuinely help and support eachother. Carrying stuff, rehearsing lines or just getting some batteries or tape for someone in the village.

Again today, things happened that should go into the strange-and-weird factfile. The water boiler went on and off seemingly randomly without anyone touching it and Philip lost an entire scene when a camera started acting up.

I am really looking forward to the next day, even though for me it will be the last one on set.

To be continued.

Filming The Stone

17
Aug

Corjan @ Annesly HallToday I was on the set of The Stone, near Nottingham in the UK, a stone’s throw away from Robin Hood’s Sherwood Forest. The set of the film is just breathtaking. A huge delapidated mansion with beautiful gardens and grounds, some still pristine as if they were only abandoned yesterday. Others overgrown in a way that it almost looks as if the scene has been created by a Hollywood artist.

The day wasn’t without its events. From the start unexplainable things have happened. This morning after I’d arrived, the lights of my car started flashing while I was upstairs in the building making some photographs. The crew also has problems with batteries suddenly draining and equipment misbehaving. It is making us very aware we are filming in one of the most haunted locations in England. Michelle Gent has published a blog about the phenomenons.

We filmed most of the material for my Haunting me Down video, involving many of the actors in the film. Tomorrow it’s my 5 minutes of fame when I will give birth to my Mark Godwin character on camera. We should also do some more work on the music video.

It was fantastic to see director Philip Gardiner in action at work with his crew. Amazing how he creates a scene in front of you with only a few people, some words and some props.

To be continued.

No Soul Unturned

15
Aug

Tomorrow I will be travelling to the UK to do my part for the upcoming movie The Stone. Some things have changed since my participation was announced in January of this year.

Where orginally I was going to perform my song in the movie as part of the movie, I have been given a role. I play Mark Godwin, a researcher who is gathering material for his next book. Some of the locations have changed as well. A big part of the movie is being shot at Annesly Hall, near Nottingham, one of the most famous haunted locations in the UK. My part is being shot there as well. I have been studying my lines by the pool in Tuscany last week and I hope I will be able to remember them when people are pointing cameras at me.

My song Haunting me Down, is the Title Song for this movie and I will contribute various musical themes as well.

The movie will premiere on the various festivals next year, including the International Cannes Film Festival. While I am in the UK, Reality Entertainment will shoot a music video for Haunting me Down that will be released in synch with the film. I am sure you can imagine that I can’t wait to get out there. It will all start Tuesday morning when I am having breakfast with director Phil Gardiner.

Wish me broken legs!
